Sikkim’s beauty isn’t found only in snow-covered peaks. Sometimes, it appears in quiet monastery courtyards, rolling tea gardens and scenic mountain roads. Namchi, in South Sikkim, brings together these experiences. Known for its religious landmarks and picturesque countryside, Namchi offers travellers an opportunity to explore a different side of Sikkim.
The town is home to the impressive Siddhesvara Dham, popularly known as Char Dham, and the towering Guru Padmasambhava statue at Samdruptse. Beyond these landmarks, the surrounding region offers peaceful villages, monasteries and the beautiful Temi Tea Garden.

Namchi is a destination where religion, culture and natural beauty come together. The town’s religious sites draw visitors interested in Buddhist and Hindu heritage, while its tea gardens and scenic viewpoints appeal to nature lovers. Unlike some of Sikkim’s high-altitude destinations, Namchi is primarily about relaxed cultural sightseeing and exploring the southern countryside.

March to May and October to November generally provide pleasant conditions for sightseeing. The monsoon creates lush green landscapes but may bring prolonged rainfall. Winter is cooler and suitable for travellers comfortable with colder hill weather.
